These custom socket head cap screws are manufactured domestically at just 3 pieces for a customer in Texas, with a short lead time of just 1 week from confirmed order.  18-8 stainless steel material was used and a partial rolled thread of 7/16-14 was incorporated to the customer's drawing specifications.

We supply these custom type B sheet metal screws to a long time customer on an as-needed blanket purchase order basis. It is a #12-11 sheet metal screw at 1-1/4 inches in length with a lead point incorporated per customer specifications. Low carbon steel, case hardened, is used with a commercial zinc and clear chromate finish. This custom screw is made in the USA with a lead time of 4-6 weeks and production runs typically ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 pieces. Internal part number BCPLP-1220-B.

This is a custom low profile socket head cap screw we supplied to a customer at just 10 pieces, made in the USA using 303 stainless steel material. It is a coarse thread 1/2-13 part at 8-1/2 inches in length. The threaded portion of the screw is at approximately 3 inches in length. Material certs are available upon request. Our internal part number is SCS-050136-I.

This is a custom M8-1.25M X 24MM socket head cap screw made to print using 12.9 alloy steel with thermal black oxide finish. 4037 alloy steel was used to made these parts in the USA, heat treated to 39-45 HRC. We supply this part on an annual revolving purchase order basis to a long time customer. Our internal part number is CLMP8-SC.

Custom drilled socket head cap screws made domestically in the USA using 17-4 PH/AMS 5643 material with AMS 2759/3, H1100 (30-37 Rc) heat treat, heavy medium sand blast, and passivation. The socket head is drilled in four places at 60 degrees between each pair, using a #56 drill bit at .0465" diameter. The length is set at .635-.615 inches and the 8-32 UNJC-3A threaded section is to be maintained at .510 to .490 inches.

One of the unique aspects of this custom socket head cap screw is the unthreaded shoulder, which was to be 21mm while limiting the thread length to 10mm. The part is manufactured using 303 stainless steel and measures M6 X 31MM.

These custom 316 stainless captive shoulder screws were manufactured domestically with plain finish.  The captive shoulder area measured 2.94MM X 12MM +/-.005" and the M4-0.7 thread covered 8MM of the overall length.  Slotted pan head was incorporated per standard IFI dimensions.  The metric thread on these parts was cut rather than rolled.

These are custom 316 stainless hex bolts made domestically in the USA in 316 stainless steel material.  The 13/16-10 thread pitch made this hex head cap screw a custom production deal.  The thread was rolled rather than cut and the head width across the flats was set to 1-1/8 inches, with the head height set to 15/32".  Material certs and a certificate of conformance was available upon request.

These custom 316 stainless steel button head screws were manufactured domestically using ASTM A240 spec raw material.  All dimensions and tolerances were to a drawing provided by our customer.  M2.5 X .45 thread was incorporated (cut thread) with thread length set to 8MM.  Head diameter was set to 4.50MM-4.7MM and head height at 1.36MM-1.50MM.  

We had a small batch of these custom 316 stainless steel
shoulder screws produced domestically for our electronics OEM customer. Partial
4-40 thread was incorporated, with a machined shoulder incorporated per our
customer specifications.

These are custom 316 stainless steel socket head cap screws at 10-32 X 1/2 and 10-32 X 3/8 in dimensions, manufactured domestically at a small batch of approximately 100 pieces.  To allow for the small quantity and speed the hex socket drive was broached instead of using a cold headed approach.  You can see evidence of this at the inside of the recess drive where you would see machining marks instead of the typical clean concave interior seen in cold headed parts.

These custom 316 stainless tapered head screws turned out to be a very tricky part - while the 10-13 thread and gimlet point were easy to incorporate, the custom head was a tough problem to solve.  A 10 degree taper was required on the hex flats and the corners rounded.  A rounded profile on a vertical cross-section of the head was also required to allow the screw to rotate while still maintaining hex head engagement.  It took three rounds of tooling to finally get the head shape just right and fit the application requirements our customer desired.  Domestic production of this part was set at 50,000 pcs with a lead time of 8-12 weeks.

We had 50,000 pcs of these custom 316L socket screws produced domestically for our action sports product customer.  Our goal was to recreate a 70 degree taper on the head profile originally accomplished using a machined secondary process.  The hardness of 316L stainless steel material made this is outcome difficult to achieve using a cold heading process.  After numerous test runs and adjustments the production team was able to achieve the desired result at last.

These are custom 32tpi socket head cap screws we supplied to our automotive prototyping customer.  4140 plain alloy material was used to produce a small batch of just 25 pieces domestically in the USA.  The 1/4-32 thread pitch was really the only tricky part requiring a custom production run.  Speed was absolutely critical to our customer and we were able to get the parts made and shipped within 2 weeks from order confirmation.

This is another 4-40 slotted flat machine screw we supply our long time customer, typically in small batches of 50-100 pieces per order. They are 3/8 in length and are manufactured in the United States using Copper 110 material. Material certs are provided with each shipment and blanket purchase order arrangements are always doable.

We had 5,000 pcs of these custom 4037 alloy steel flat socket head screws produced in the USA for our aerospace customer. ASTM A574 4037 material was used for the production and the cadmium plating was dome per AMS-QQ-P-416A TYpe II, with thickness at 0.0005-.0008". Heat treat was performed to get the hardness of the parts to Rc 41-45.

These custom 4140 flat socket head cap screws were produced domestically for our aerospace customer using AISI 4140 alloy steel material per AMS 6349.  Heat treat to 160-180 ksi per AMS 2759 was performed to finalize the production process.  Magnetic particle inspection per ASTM 1444 (Type I, Meth A, Sens Lev 3) was performed after the machining process was completed.

These are custom 4140 steel shoulder bolts we supplied to our automotive customer at 100 pieces.  4140 steel material was used with heat treat to achieve 37-44 RC, with plain finish.  The shoulder measured M11.5 x 136MM with a 1.15MM groove approximately 35MM from the special hex head.  The special dog point measures 10.447MM/10.540MM by 5.7MM in length.  Lead time for this 100 piece domestic batch was approximately 6 weeks from order confirmation.

These are custom 6-lobe socket cap screws made domestically using 4037 alloy steel material.  Strength was absolutely critical to our customer and the parts were heat treated to 39-43 hrc. In the absence of an available drawing for this part we had to work off samples our customer provided for all dimensional attributes.  After confirming the material, strength, and dimensional requirements we had 1,000 pcs produced for our customer with a lead time of approximately 12 weeks from order confirmation.  Heat treat and material certs were included with the parts.

Custom 6-lobe socket head cap screws manufactured domestically in 18-8 stainless steel material at approximately 8,000 pcs. Our customer wanted us to provide these custom screws in black oxide finish after running them through ASTM A967 passivation. Partial unthreaded shoulder was incorporated and the thread was rolled instead of the cut alternative. Lead time for similar projects is currently running at 8-12 weeks from order confirmation.

These custom 6-lobe socket head screws were manufactured domestically using 4140 alloy steel material with heat treat to 42-47 HRC.  2A 6-48 UNS thread was incorporated with thread length at .375".  T15 6-lobe drive was cold formed and the thread rolled.  

This is unique custom 302 stainless steel #4-24 X .900 socket sheet metal screw. It incorporates a 6-lobe socket drive and a partial thread with a AB type point. These special sheet metal screws are supplied at quantities of approximately 2,000 pieces per order and carry a lead time of 6-8 weeks. They are passivated in the final stage of the manufacturing process and are made in the USA.

These are custom 6-lobe wood screws made in 316 stainless steel material measuring 1.888" in length +/- .005".  #10-13 thread tapping thread pitch is rolled after the custom shaped head is cold formed and T20 6-lobe drive incorporated.  Production is done domestically at approximately 50,000 pcs per run and the total quantity was provided to our customer in 2 batches with the first shipment containing 18,000 pcs.

We supplied 54 pieces of these custom aerospace socket head cap screws to our long time customer.  They were made in the USA using 18-8 stainless steel material (no DFARS requirement on these) with a broached 9/64" hex socket drive with min .077" engagement depth.  1" of the overall 4.25" length under the head was threaded at 8-32.  Due to the smaller quantity required the thread was cut rather than rolled.  Material certs and a certificate of conformance was provided but no FAIR was required for this specific part.

These custom A286 MS24693 crews can look deceivingly simple at first glance. The A286 material was a large deviation from the typical MS24693 specifications and the parts had to be heat treated to 140 KSI. To finish off the production process the parts went through a NADCAP certified sand blast and descale & passivation process per AMS2700 Type 2 Class 1. The production consisted of approximately 50,000 pcs and was completed domestically. NACAP cert for the passivation was provided together with material cert and certificate of conformance.

These are custom automotive flat socket machine screws we supply our aftermarket automotive OEM customer.  Parts are manufactured domestically with production runs of 5,000 pcs and lead time of approximately 8-10 weeks.  Cold headed 5/32 hex drive is incorporated with fully threaded 1/4-28 body and 60 degree countersink angle.  3/32 of hex key engagement is required and nylon thread lock patch is added to finalize the parts.  Level III PPAP was provided to the customer with the parts.

These custom regulator vented plugs are a perfect example of the large number of custom automotive hardware components we supply our customer base.  We worked with the customer through a number of design iterations to forgo an initial design that included a brazed component and instead go towards a design shown here with a vented hole.  The socket recess provided another challenge - going with a broached alternative would provide a better cost profile but add risk of excess material affecting the vented hole.  Instead we decided to take on the additional cost and run a cold headed process for the recess, providing a clean look and application to the part.

Approximately 34,000 pieces of these custom bead blast flat socket screws were supplied to our customer in the defense manufacturing sector.  Half the parts were set at 1.29" length while the other half set to 1.695" length.  The same 1/4-28 thread was incorporated on both parts and the socket drive was cold headed.  A spherical readius shape was incorporated into the top of the flat head, which is difficult to discern in the photos shown.  The head height measured .097" and the head diameter at .375".  Glass bead blast process was used to add the matte sand finish desired by our customer.

These custom black thumb screws with diamond knurl were manufactured to our customer's drawing at 2,000 pieces using low carbon steel material with black oxide finish.  The head diameter is set to .313" +/- .005" and the thread length is .375" with the same tolerance.  6-32 thread was rolled rather than cut on these parts.

These custom button flange socket cap screws were produced using grade 2 steel material with black oxide finish and nylon patch thread locking feature.  Full 8-32 thread was incorporated and the flange diameter was set at .357" +/-.005".  Head height including the flange was to be at .087" +/-.005" and a 3/32 socket drive was cold headed during the production process.  The blue nylon patch was applied over 180 degrees of the covered threaded section.

These are custom button head socket screws with half dog point used in an aerospace assembly application by our long time customer.  18-8 material is used to domestically manufacture these parts and the half dog point measures .225-.235 diameter by .150-.170 inches in length.  The screw itself measures 5/16-24 X 1" and we had these produced at a small quantity of just 25 pieces with rush service at 2 weeks lead time.  Material certs, inspection report, and certificate of conformance was provided with the parts per our aerospace customer's specifications.

These custom captive shoulder screws were manufactured using a modification to a COTS part for our defense customer using 18-8 stainless steel material with standard 2-56 3A thread and standard socket head dimensions.  Length underneath the head was designed to .750" +/- .005" and the shoulder was turned to a diameter of .052-.054", at a length of .066" +/- .005".  

Slightly over 4,000 pieces of these custom captive shoulder screws were made domestically for our aerospace customer.  An MS24671-32 part made using 302HQ DFARS compliant material was used as a base part to create this final version.  Part of the 1/4-20 3A thread was turned down to a shoulder diameter of .175" +/-.005 and length of .339" +/- .015.  .375" of thread remained after the modification.  The resulting captive shoulder screws were then passivated per AMS QQ-P-35 and run through a thread lock patch process per MIL-F-18240.

These are custom captive stainless steel screws we supplied to our construction customer, who refers to them as "Gripper Screws".  Production was done domestically in the USA at approximately 5,000 pieces and a lead time of 6-8 weeks.  The multi-step flat head was made using a cold heading process and the 10-32 thread was rolled at 0.2" in length.  The diameter of the unthreaded shoulder was set at 0.14" +/-.015.

These custom class 12.9 metric aerospace screws with cad plated finish were manufactured domestically using DFARS compliant 4140 alloy steel material per ASTM A108.  1,100 pieces were produced measuring 5M X 0.8MM X 16.15MM +/0.03MM.  6G class thread was rolled and the head incorporated a cold formed socket drive, fine knurl feature, and a .050" diameter through hole.  

These are custom combo drive machine screws measuring 10-32 X 3/8.  They are manufactured domestically using steel zinc material with production runs typically at 200,000 to 250,000.  We stock and release this part to our long time OEM customer with revolving annual blanket purchase orders.

These custom cone point screws were manufactured using 304 stainless steel material with plain finish. 8-32 fine thread was incorporated with the overall length of the threaded portion and the cone point set at .2925"-.3125". The head diameter was .306"-.322" and slot depth at .045"-.058". Head height was set at .085"-.096". Production was completed at just over 13,000 pieces within 8 weeks from order.

At first glance these custom deep recess phillips drive screws seem like ordinary sheet metal screws. For the most part that is true - the Type A thread and head dimensions are essentially per IFI specs without any modifications. A closer look however will reveal a significantly deeper recess in the phillips drive. Standard #8 phillips drive for a pan head reaches a depth of .108" while this custom part has a recess depth of .120" to .122" - a significant difference when it comes to improved engagement and faster/easier use on the production floor. This improvement in speed and engagement was the main driver behind our customer's request for this modified sheet metal screw, particularly important when some of the depth is used for paint when the screw heads are painted a variety of different colors.

This is a custom DFAR socket cap screw we supplied to our aerospace customer at just 55 pieces - it was made in the USA using ASTM A-276 stainless steel material to the customer's specific requirements. Material certificates, dimensional test report, and certificate of conformance were provided with the parts.

Custom slotted fillister screws we supplied to our aerospace customer at 100 pieces - ASTM A582 DFARS compliant 303 stainless steel material (Italy Melt) was used for the domestic manufacturing.  2-56 thread was incorporated at .25-.37" in length, with the overall length underneath the head at .625 +0/-.030".  The head height measures .070-.095" and the slot depth is set at .033-.043".  Head diameter was set between .145" and .161".  Full certs were provided with the parts per our customers usual requirements.

We supply our customer base countless custom made metric socket screws like this special to print M14 X 1.5M X 50MM flat socket cap screw in 10.9 alloy steel, with plain and light oil finish. This custom socket screw is supplied in small quantities from 10-50 pieces at a time and is often used in automotive and motorcycle applications.

We have been supplying our long time OEM customer with these custom modified parts for many years.  They are 18-8 stainless steel socket head cap screws with a half dog point.  Flatness of the point is most critical to our customer's application and the process had to be refined over the first few years to get it absolutely right.  The half dog point dimensions are based on ASME B18.3-2003.

We had 100 pieces of these custom double thread hardened turnbuckle studs produced for our customer in 4140 steel material, hardened to 45-48 HRC.  Local induction heat hardening was performed at the longer hex key, targeting 53-57 HRC. 3/8-24 UNJF 2A thread was rolled with right hand thread on one side and left hand thread on the other.  Overall length was to be between 10.33" and 10.38", with the unthreaded portion diameter between .345" and .375".

Overall length measured 10.75" +/- 0.20" and 1/2-6 lag screw thread was incorporated at one side, with the other side using rolled 1/2-13 thread.  Approximately 5.5" of lag thread was designed into the part and 1.2" of the machine screw thread.  The crimped shoulder was set to a height of .37" +/-.02" and a length of .625" to allow use of a wrench during the application.  

This is a custom made socket set screw made using 303 stainless steel, passivated to Mil QQ-P-35 Type II. It measures 10-32 X .415" +/-.010 and is drilled at a diameter of .126 +.005/-.000 to a depth of .250 +/-.005. We supply them at orders of approximately 1,000 pieces per release and the custom parts are made domestically in the USA.

These are custom extra long hex bolts we have supplied our customer for many years, with shipments of approx 20,000 pcs at a time every 2-3 years. 307A steel material is used with zinc clear finish and all parts are manufactured overseas. 1.5" to 1.688" of thread is rolled on each part and the hex head height is set to .226-.268 inches. R0.01-0.03 underneath the head is critical for our customer's application, allowing the head to lay as flat as possible against the mating part.

These are custom flat socket head cap screws manufactured domestically using 18-8 stainless steel material.  The production run was relatively low in quantity at approximately 10,000 pcs, with a standard non-expedited lead time of 6-7 weeks.  Material certs, certificate of conformance, and passivation certs to QQ-P-35 were provided with the parts.

These custom flat socket head screws were manufactured domestically at 20,000 pieces in the 1.695" overall length and the same quantity in 1.29" overall length.  302 stainless steel material was used with plain passivated finish.  Head diameter was .375" and head height at .097", with a 90 degree countersunk base.  Partial thread of .75" was rolled for both length variations.  Material certs and certificate of conformance was provided with the parts.

These custom grade 5 automotive screws are exactly the same dimensionally as the 1/4-28 version shown in one of the previous posts but with two specific distinctions: the thread had to be 1/4-32 instead for this 2,500 pcs batch and the lead time had to be FAST.  To accomplish this the hex socket drive was broached instead of cold heading, the marks of which you can see at the very bottom of the hex recess.  That allowed us to save weeks of lead time and we also expedited the thread lock application process as well as all the transit in between processes.  Level III PPAP paperwork is provided with the parts per our customers original request and requirement.

We have supplied these custom grade 5 hex cap screws to our customer for well over 10 years.  The parts are manufactured domestically, with production runs typically covering 50,000 pieces at a time.  The shoulder is critical on these parts, set at .312" in diameter +/- .005" and at 1/4" in length.  Head dimensions slightly off the standard for this size and the finish is black oxide and light oil.  

We supply these custom grade 5 shoulder bolts to our long time customer with recurring annual blanket purchase orders, typically with annual usage ranging between 20,000 and 25,000 pieces.  They are domestically manufactured to a grade 5 standard with commercial zinc, bake and clear chromate finish.  The shoulder measures .40" in diameter by .50" in length, with 5/16-18 thread rolled the balance of the screw.  The overall length is 1-1/4" underneath the head.

These are custom 3/4-10 T-bolts made using Grade 8 40 CR material, with plain and light oil finish. It is supplied in combination with the coupling nut and washer as shown below. Sold on an annual blanket purchase order basis, this part is made overseas with our long time trusted factory source and is provided with all necessary paperwork/certs.

These custom grade 8 T-bolts were produced using SAE J429 material to Grade 8 specifications, finished with a black oxide process.  An existing sample was used to recreate the design and tooling for the head shape.  3/8-20 unorthodox thread pitch was rolled at thread length of .8" minimum.  Overall length of the part was set at 1.212" +/-.01" and the max head diameter reached .757" +/-.01".  

These are custom hex flange screws we supplied to our automotive customer in grade 10.9.  The size and thread pitch is relatively common in the marketplace but the 10.9 class is a tricky find.  With the large volume required we had the parts domestically produced with black phosphate finish.  Measuring M12 X 1.75 X 30MM the hex flange head measured 23-25MM in flange diameter and 14.5-15.0MM across the flats.  Head height was set to 12MM +/-1MM, inclusive of the flange.  Full certs were available to the customer upon request.

We supply these custom hex shoulder screws to our Canadian customer, with the shoulder measuring .425 +/-.002 by 1.650 +.005/-.000 in length.  5/16-18 thread was incorporated measuring .50" in length including the unthreaded portion before the rolled thread begins.  .055 radius hole was then drilled at .102" from the end of the threaded portion.

We supply our customer base a large number of different thread forming screws like these custom hex washer head trilobular screws manufactured overseas in Taiwan.  They measure 10/32 X 1/2 and are made using 410 stainless steel with heat treat for additional hardness and passivation to complete the production process.  Production is typically run at 100,000 pieces and we supply it to our long time OEM customer using 12 month blanket purchase orders.

Over the years we have provided countless custom knurled hardware pieces - below is a snapshot of a custom bolt we are working on producing for a customer that is intended to be hammered into a pre-drilled steel plate.  We noticed that the spec calls out for diamond knurling but realized that probably won't work for the intended purpose, which is to keep the bolt from spinning after being inserted.

After discussing it with the factory engineers we suggested going with a straight knurl instead of the diamond knurl.  The straight knurl would work better in keeping engagement.  We put together these samples to allow our customer to test the idea before incorporating it fully into the production run.  The production parts would be made using the same 41L40 steel material with a zinc plated finish.

These custom knurled shoulder bolts are the result of the tests we ran with different knurling methods mentioned in one of the previous posts.  Parts came out perfectly but we did run into some challenges with the lead times, being behind initial expectations due to tooling delays early in the process.  We had to throw money at expediting every part of the process where possible to try to limit our delays as much as possible - some sleepless nights worrying about these bad boys and our customer's dire need.  Every good factory and secondary processor across the nation is absolutely swamped so make sure to buffer lead time expectations as much as possible.

These are custom knurled shoulder screws manufactured domestically in grade 5.1 steel material with zinc and yellow finish. Production was run at a relatively small quantity of 4,000 pieces.  Material certs and dimensional test reports were provided with the parts.

A574 material was used for these custom socket cap screws, with minimum tensile strength of 170,000 psi, minimum yield strength of 154,000 psi, and rockwell hardness between 37 and 45.  1-1/4 -7 class 3A thread was required and the overall length underneath the head was 9 inches.  MIL-DTL-13924 black oxide finish was done to complete the parts.  Per their request the shank and threads of each socket screw had to be protected during handling and shipping.

We supplied these custom length shoulder bolts to our audio device manufacturer.  The shoulder bolt is essentially an off-the-shelf 1/4 X 1 shoulder bolt with 10-24 rolled thread in 18-8 stainless steel material.  Our customer was unable to use this version as-is due to the combined length of threaded portion and the machined fillet preceding it.  In order to make use these parts that combined length had to be at .24"  +/- .01".  As a relatively simple operation we ran these parts through a cut and chamfer operation to get them to the correct length.  Lead time for this operation was 1-2 weeks from receipt of the off-the-shelf version.

These are custom long 316 stainless steel screws at 8-32 X 3 in dimensions, manufactured domestically at a small batch of approximately 40 pieces. To allow for the small quantity and speed the hex socket drive was broached instead of using a cold headed approach.  The partial thread was also cut rather than rolled to allow for the short production run option.

These custom long socket head machine screws were manufactured domestically using 4140 alloy steel material with heat treatment to reach 37-44 Rc hardness.  Two sizes were produced together in this run: 8-32 X 5.43" length with thread length of 5/8" and 8-36 (an odd thread pitch requested for this one) X 6-3/8" with the same 5/8" thread length requirement.  

These are custom stainless steel socket cap screws made domestically using 303 stainless steel at just 102 pieces.  We supply this part to our long time aerospace customer approximately once a year with full paperwork.  It measures 8-32 X 4-1/2 and had a relatively short lead time of 1 week for production.  Our internal part number is SC-008068-I.

Custom low head metric screws manufactured domestically using 303 stainless steel material. The 1/16 hex drive was broached with a 1.5MM drive depth. Heavy torque blue thread locking patch was applied to conform to a .60 to .33 Nm minimum torque testing. Head height measured 1.75MM and the width at 9.65MM. The rounding around the edges of the head was set to R 0.020. Production samples were provided for customer testing and approval prior to commitment to a full production run. Lead time for production is 8-10 weeks from confirmed order. Certificate of conformance, First Article Inspection Report, material cert, and passivation cert were required with the parts per our customer's request.

These custom low head slotted machine screws were manufactured domestically using 12L14 steel material and then run through a commercial black oxide process.  Length under the head was set at .375" +/-.03", fully threaded with 8-32 thread pitch.  The head height was set at .055", diameter at .265", slot width at .05", and slot depth at .042".  Our internal part number for this item is MSF-0806-AF and while lead time varies quite a bit depending on production volume required, we typically budget 6-8 weeks from order confirmation.

These are custom low head socket cap screws we supply to an offroad automotive product manufacturer.  We have a revolving blanket purchase order arrangement with next day deliveries of the parts from the individual releases.  Measuring 1/4-20 X 1 to standard IFI specifications, these low head socket cap screws are made in plain grade 5 steel material with black electroplated zinc finish for corrosion resistance.  A standard nylon thread locking patch is applied as the final part of the process to get the parts ready for use.

We supplied these custom low head socket cap screws in alloy steel material with black oxide finish. Two different lengths were required by our customer - 28MM and 33MM under the head. We used COTS version of this DIN7984 socket cap screw at 35MM as the base part, then cutting and chamfering the parts to the appropriate lengths. The last step was the black oxide process - we mixed both sizes together to minimize the per piece cost to our customer. Since we used a standard off the shelf part to create the modified version the lead time was relatively fast at 1-2 weeks from receipt of production order. That lead time can change significantly if the base part has limited availability.

These custom low profile socket head screws with a  6-lobe (torx) drive were manufactured domestically using 302 stainless steel material with a commercial passivated plain finish.  5,000 pieces of two sizes were produced: M10 - 1.5M X 65MM with a T-45 drive size and M8 - 1.25M X 65MM with a T-30 drive size.  26-30MM of thread was incorporated on the larger version and 22-25MM on the smaller diameter part.  The low profile & 6-lobe drive combination is relatively tricky, especially for these larger diameters as additional controls in tooling are required to avoid flowering on the outside profile of the head.

These custom low profile torx machine screws were manufactured domestically using 18-8 stainless steel material, at production volume of approximately 5,500 pieces.  T10 size 6 lobe drive was incorporated and the head diameter at .262" +/-.01" and head height at .263" +/-.01.  6-32 thread was selected for the .185" of thread, followed by a lead point measuring .090" +.000/-.002 in diameter and .050" +.020/-.000 in length.  Parts were passivated per MIL QQ-P-35 Type II to complete the production process.

We ran an order of these custom metric 316L set screws with a short dog point at just 66 pieces using domestic production. Lead time was relatively short at just 2-3 weeks from confirmed purchase order receipt. A short .059 dog point was incorporated and a 2.5MM hex socket drive was broached for speed and cost efficiency. This is a small quantity order of custom fine thread metric hex head cap screws in A2 stainless steel material we supplied to one of our OEM customers - we supplied a small batch of 100 pieces and the parts measured M8 X 1.0 X 30MM. The hex cap screws were made fully threaded to the customer's specific instructions. Lead time was 2-3 weeks from order.

We supplied our industrial design customer these custom metric flange bolts in two different sizes, M12-1.75 X 35MM and M12 -1.75 X 45MM.  Small batch of 100 pieces in each length was manufactured using our overseas production facility as a test run to allow our customer to test the parts in their mold application prior to a full production run.  Due to the small quantities involved, the parts were machined rather than cold or hot headed.  The machining process is much faster because it avoids lengthy and costly tooling and machinery set up, which would not be cost effective for a small run.

This is an M6 X 1.0 X 60MM hex head cap screw that is fully threaded per customer's specifications and manufactured in the United States using 410 stainless steel. Parts are then heat treated for required hardness. A similar part is supplied for the same customer at M5 diameter, which will be shown as a separate entry. Both parts are supplied on a one-time release basis at 5,000 pieces each.

These are M2 X 6MM DFARS compliant socket cap screws whose simplicity in look is misleading to say the least.  We were tasked to replicate our customers existing samples and the combination of the hex broach dimensions and depth together with the countersunk angle required a different approach than a standard flat socket head screw.  The part was initially made like a standard socket cap screw without the countersink, broached to required depth, and then machined down for the countersunk angle.  Finally the part was then threaded and passivated.

These are custom metric socket cap screws with an undersized head diameter that we have provided to an aftermarket automotive product manufacturer for many years.  Measuring M5 X 0.80M X 16MM, the socket cap screws are domestically manufactured in alloy steel material and then finished with zinc yellow finish.  The final step involves the application of 1193S thread locking patch on each screw.  Our internal part number for this custom item is DIN912-05016-C1193S.

These custom modified grade 8 machine screws were made using 5/16-18 X 1-1/4 Grade 8 hex head cap screws in grade 8 steel material with zinc/clear finish.  The head of each COTS part was machined to the shape seen here, with the head height at .190" +/-.005" and head diameter at .485" +/-.005".  Single flat .42" section was incorporated at one section per our customer's provided sample piece.  Total of 300 pieces were modified on this specific production run and the lead time was approximately 2 weeks from the order receipt.

These are custom Monel 400 socket head cap screws measuring 5/8-11 by 3-1/2" in length.  Domestically produced with a lead time of just 4 days, the 4 pieces we had manufactured incorporated coarse cut thread and a broached socket head drive.  Material certs and a certificate of conformance was provided with the parts per our customer's request.

This is a small quantity (1,000 pieces) batch of custom made dimensional equivalent of MS16218-9 slotted flat machine screws, made in the USA using C65500 ASTM B 98 silicon bronze material - it measures 2-56 X 3/16".

The trickiest part was the 1250 MPA requirement, which is a deviation from the standard NA0069A040046 specification. We were able to supply the custom part faster than our original promise date at approximately 3 weeks from order receipt. M4-0.7 thread was incorporated and test results confirmed 39-40 HRC after AMS 2759/3 Rev. F heat treat process. NADCAP certified passivation per AMS-2700 was also performed and all certifications were provided to our customer with the parts.

These custom nickel plated socket head screws were produced domestically using 4340 material instead of the originally requested 17-4PH version, with heat treatment to get the parts up to required 35-45 HRC hardness.  1/2-20 thread with 2A thread fit was incorporated with thread length of .77 inches.  Overall length underneath the head was set at 1.37" +.00/-.03".  The large .945" diameter head presented a challenge from the start for the cold heading operation - it took multiple sets of tooling and adjustments to finally get the head shape just right.

These custom slotted round metric screws were manufactured using a cold heading process mild steel material, finished with a black oxide treatment. 90-92 degree angle was incorporated underneath the head, which had an outside diameter of 13.37MM-13.80MM and overall height of 5.15MM max inclusive of the undercut portion. Full M7 X 1.0M thread was rolled to a 6G thread fit.

These are custom stainless button head cap screws with partial 8-32 thread made domestically in the United States to the customer's print.  303 stainless steel material was used and the unthreaded shank of the custom screw was made to a diameter of .125".  The 8-32 threaded portion was maintained to a max .225 inches in length.  The button head diameter was maintained within a maximum of .312 inches.

These custom stainless shoulder captive screws were manufactured using cold drawn stainless steel bar stock material with a cold headed head and drive.  6-32 thread was incorporated at 5mm +/- 0.5, with a lead in chamfer per print.  The head was made to 8mm in diameter and 1.5mm in height, with the step shoulder measuring 3.6 in diameter by 2mm in length.  The long captive shoulder was set to 2.3mm +0/-0.2 diameter.  Overall length is 31.5mm and the head featured a #2 phillips drive.

This is a custom made 8-32 X 1" button socket head screw made in the USA using 302HQ material per customer specifications. We typically supply this part in quantities of 5,000 - 10,000 pieces and lead times vary between 5 and 7 weeks from order.

We had 10,000 pieces of each size of these custom stainless steel fully threaded lag screws supplied to our construction customer.  304 stainless steel material was used and the parts were manufactured to ASME B18.2.1 other than the full thread feature requirement.  Tensile strength was required to surpass the minimum 90,000 psi requirement and both the material composition and the tensile strength (axial) were tested at a third party lab with full certs.  The two sizes pictured here are the 3/8-7 X 4" and 3/8-7 X 5.5".  The finish on both sizes is Geomet 321 with Plus L top coat.

This is a custom 303 stainless steel screw domestically manufactured for a customer in the aerospace industry. Initially just 10 pieces were made for testing purposes prior to a commitment for larger full production volume quantities. The screw measures 6-32 X 1/2" and the head height is limited to just .025 inches and the head diameter is held to .280" +/- .005". The custom socket screw was used in combination with an o-ring in the final application as a sealing screw.

These custom torx 6-48 socket head cap screws were manufactured domestically using 4140 alloy steel material with heat treat to 42-47 HRC.  2A 6-48 UNS thread was incorporated with thread length at .200".  T15 6-lobe drive was cold formed and the thread rolled.  

We supply our diverse customer base hundreds of custom made to print trilobular thread forming screws in both steel and stainless steel materials. This particular special thread forming part measures 10-24 X 3.19" and is manufactured to print overseas in Taiwan in steel/zinc; it is then supplied to our customer on an as-released blanket purchase order basis.

These custom unique thread pitch screws were one of the stranger projects that we came across - it was the first time in over 20 years that someone requested a 3/8-20 thread pitch.  We had the custom screws manufactured domestically at just 40 pieces using 18-8 stainless steel material.  The lead time was at approximately 3 weeks from order confirmation.

Measuring 8-32 X 5/8 and 6-32 X 1/4 both are made using Invar 36 material with a vent drilled hole running the full length of the screw. Invar 36 material has a very low level of thermal expansion and is typically used for applications where dimensional changes due to temperature variation must be minimized as much as possible. The hex socket drive was broached for both parts, in lieu of a cold headed alternative.

These custom vented titanium socket cap screws were made domestically in the USA using ASTM B348 Grade 5 material and measured 2-56 X 7/8".  The vent hole has a diameter of .028 inches.  Lead time for similar parts is typically 8-10 weeks but expedited options are typically available upon request.  Our internal part number for this vented screw is SC-002014-UVENT.

Our customer needed 24 pieces of these extended thread large B7 hex bolts, measuring 7/8 X 9 with coarse thread.  The cut thread was extended as far as possible for each of the 24 pieces and the turnaround for the small quantity was relatively fast at just a few business days.  The finalized hex bolts were supplied with nuts and washers.

We were presented with the challenge of having custom 12 socket cap screws made out of Invar 36 material to a provided print in a relatively short period of time, which is essentially a 36% nickel iron alloy material, with matching finished hex nuts. This material is typically used for applications where dimensional properties must be maintained across a broad range of temperatures. We were able to have the parts produced and delivered within 3 weeks of order date. While in this specific case no certifications were required, various documentation would have been available to the customer if requested and required.

Some years ago our customer approached us with the task of creating this self piercing screw for a specialized assembly application. It has since become a consistent item we carry to ensure adequate supply for their need at all times. The part is a modified truss head self tapping type A screw, with a phillips drive. Measuring 9-9 X 1-5/8 in length this part is a special screw manufactured to print using 18-8 stainless steel, followed by a passivation process.

These parts are manufactured overseas and supplied to our customer on a blanket as-released purchase order basis.  We originally supplied this 10 X 1/2 phil pan hi-lo in plain 316 stainless steel material but at some point our customer needed additional corrosion resistance in their application.  At that point we had our inventory supply barrel plated to the pictured chrome finish and all future imported parts would come in already chrome plated.  Domestic chrome finish, whether barrel plated or individually racked, typically has a much brighter finish than the finish found on large volume imported parts.

We have been supplying this special hex shoulder bolt to the same customer for over five years, made in the USA using grade 5 steel and zinc plated.  Approximately 12 months of supply is carried at all times and parts are released to our customer as needed based on their production.  Blanket purchases are used on a rotating basis to lock in pricing and ensure adequate supply at all times.

This is a special 7/16-20 hex head bolt with left hand thread that we have been supplying the same customer for over 5 years.  It incorporates a special marked stamp per the customer's print and is manufactured using 1018 cold rolled steel, which is carburized to 1700 degrees, soaked for 2 hours, and oil quenched.  Like many of the parts we supply this special part is supplier on an as-released blanket purchase basis.

This is a special partially threaded machine screw supplied to our customer at 30,000 pieces. The part is made using 18-8 stainless steel and is slightly tapered at the point to allow for faster use in the customer's application. The head is a slightly off-standard pan head with a phillips drive. Parts are made in the United States.

This is a special phillips flat DIN965 machine screw measuring M3 X 0.5 X 9MM and manufactured in the USA using steel with zinc plating finish.  These parts we typically supply to our customer with a production run for each order at the quantity requested, typically around 3,000 pieces.  While a variety of M3 X 0.5 DIN965 screws are available as standards, the 9MM length is often an impossible item to find off the shelf and requires production as a special.
